Asclepias curassavica, "Silky Gold". Half-hardy perennial; frost tender; height to 3 feet has small bright yellow flowers. Requires good drainage, amended soil, moderate to low water. Perennial in California, however, gets scraggly in winter. Frost tender. Grows best in full sun, but tolerates light shade. Grows to 3 ft. high. Cut by one third in December to mimic native species. AVAILABLE SEEDS LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Asclepias curassavica, "Red Butterfly". Half-hardy perennial; flowers red and orange; frost tender; height to 3 feet, often called Mexican milkweed or bloodflower, has small orange/ yellow flowers. Requires good drainage, moderate water. Perennial in Ca. Grows well in full sun and tolerates light shade. Can cut back grown plants in early Dec. by one third to mimic native species. AVAILABLE SEEDS AVAILABLE
Asclepias fruticosa, "Swan Plant". Hardy perennial, requires good drainage, moderate to low water and strong staking to support weak trunk system. Plant individually or in rows every 6 ft. Frost-tender. Height to 10 ft. Seed pods look like a "swan". AVAILABLE SEEDS AVAILABLE
Asclepias physocarpa, "Blow Fish Tree". Hardy perennial;requires good drainage, moderate to low water and strong staking to support weak trunk system. Plant individually or in rows every 6 ft. Frost-tender. Height to 10 ft. Seed pods look like a "Blowfish". NOT AVAILABLE SEEDS NOT AVAILABLE

Asclepias speciosa, "Showy Milkweed". Extremely hardy perennial once established; a California native, requires little care once established. Adapts to most soils. Drought tolerant, small orchid-like flowers. Goes dormant late summer. Watch for shoots in mid April. Withstands extreme winter conditions. NOT AVAILABLE SEEDS LIMITED AVAILABILITY

We do not ship plants and only provide plants for customers who either come to our farm or see us at one of the events listed on the schedule web page. We are flexible in making appointments for visitors who make the trip to Aromas.

For non local customers another alternative is toTO ORDER MILKWEED SEEDS. The seed packets can be purchased for $3.00 a packet. Seed packets normally have between 40 and 50 seeds. Seeds are also available at Natural Bridges State Park and Coyote Hills Regional Park. Best practice is to call for exact availiability of seeds and plants.
